We continue to busily fulfill our community arts mission offering free and low-cost art classes and workshops to local residents of all ages and abilities, including making these adorable Christmas gnomes with Kim Mabon and Youth Altered Books with Chris Frausto, and many others. Check our website and social media channels frequently for new opportunities.
The Corona Art Association will be celebrating its 60th anniversary in 2023! We have been planning all year how we will mark our diamond anniversary, starting with this amazing 2023 Calendar feature art from our members and some CAA history as well. This fundraising calendar will help us continue our nonprofit mission into the new year. Get yours in the Gallery for a $15 donation, or $10 each for 2 or more!
Our little elves have been busy crafting holiday items for our Holiday Boutique set for the first weekend of December. Shop during our regular business hours on Saturday, Dec. 3, and extended hours on Sunday, Dec. 4, through the City's Tree Lighting ceremony until 8pm. We have just the thing to complete your holiday decorating as well as cards and gifts for everyone on your list. All items are hand-crafted by CAA member artists and part of the proceeds comes back to CAA to support ourselves so we can continue to bring art opportunities to the Corona-Norco-Eastvale areas.
We will have lots of unique Christmas, Wintery, Festive, and other amazing art objects, cards, jewelry, ornaments, and more! And don't forget we have a plethora of items in our Gallery Gift Shop all the time!
Also on Saturday, Dec. 3 starting at 1pm we'll be hosting a Holiday Card Open Studio! Join CAA members in a communal card-prep afternoon writing our Christmas/Holiday cards to friends and family. We'll listen to holiday tunes and snack on holiday fare (pot luck style). Take advantage of CAA's vast stock of pre-made cards, stickers, stamps, and other art materials for a $5 donation, or bring your own! Have a pile of old cards from past years? Bring them to exchange with others for fresh ones!
We will also be donating our time and materials to prepare 100 holiday cards for the residents of Peppermint Ridge! Please join us in helping make the holidays brighter for these amazing folks.
Our final members' general meeting of 2022 will occur on Tuesday, Dec. 13 from 6-8pm in the Community Room at the Historic Civic Center. We will be announcing who will receive OArtist of the Year 2022, the results of our election, and surveys for the art show themes for 2023 as well as the winner of the 60th anniversary T-Shirt Design Contest. Following the meeting, we will commence our annual Holiday Party, which will feature an optional White Elephant gift exchange and a variety of pasta dishes catered from Enzo's Pizza in Riverside thanks to member Jan Matthews.
We are asking for $10 cash from each attendee to be paid at the Gallery. Please RSVP for this members-only event online here so we know how many to expect: https://www.coronaartassociation.org/event-details/general-meeting-holiday-party
