Autumn officially starts next week, and that means our thoughts begin to drift towards the holidays and cooler (hopefully!) weather. The Corona Art Association has already kicked off our series of Fall-O-Ween classes and events with more just around the corner!
You don't want to miss this creatively creepy Poison Apple Witch Paint night with CAA member-artist and Director of Volunteer Services, Karla Barney! This isn't your ordinary paint project, we'll be using a special process to give 3-D relief to the tree. The event is scheduled for THIS SATURDAY, Sept. 17 from 6-9pm, so SIGN UP TODAY! https://www.coronaartassociation.org/event-details/poison-apple-witch-paint-night-with-karla-b
Last Saturday, we did this super fun intro to decorative painting class with our president, Laureen Pedroza, to kick off our Fall-O-Ween slate. One of things we love about projects like this is that everyone starts off with the same basic materials, and they turn out so different from each other... and fabulous!
Take-In for the "Pets" art show (September/October) is this weekend, Sept. 16-18 from 12-4pm only. All members of CAA and the wider community are welcome to submit original artwork to our bimonthly art shows. You can learn more here: https://www.coronaartassociation.org/art-shows
At our September General Meeting on the 13th, we were treated to a demonstration on Papel Picado by Ivette Monteja of Amor Por Vida. We all really enjoyed getting involved in this amazing demo and hands-on experience!
Do you have an idea or request for meeting demonstrations, with or without a hands-on component? If so, please reach out to Lori Alarcon at lori@coronaartassociation.org
Tuesday, Sept. 20 from 11amm-12pm, we are holding our monthly Dine-Out Fundraiser at the Lazy Dog Restaurant and Bar on McKinley in Corona (where Claim Jumper used to be). This is one of our favorite places. If you haven't been yet, take this opportunity to try them out. You can even bring your dog and eat together on the patio! (Yes, they have a Pup menu!). Please show them this flyer, either on your phone or print out, when you order so CAA receives 15% back to support our ongoing community arts mission.
New classes for Teens, Kids, and Adults are coming this Fall! Check out these opportunities. Not all classes are available for sign ups on our website just yet, and plenty more are coming, so check back often to see new things. All Teen, Youth, and Kids classes are FREE this fall thanks to generous support from the Reed Foundation for the Arts and the Stephan Center.
Please help us support FREE Adaptive Art Classes for Teens and Adults with Special Needs by making a donation or buying one of our "Hearts for Adaptive Arts" ornaments hand-decorated by CAA members, and/or volunteering to help out.
These classes are led by CAA volunteers. If you want to help, just show up.

Art happens here!
The Corona Art Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit community arts organization that has been serving the artistic needs of our communities since your participation in our events and donations help us to continue to support visual arts education and enjoyment for free or low-cost to residents of all ages and abilities. Thank you.
We especially need donations to our Adaptive Art classes for kids and adults with special needs. These are taught at the Corona Library 100% by volunteers.
